small area help

Trying to figure out what to do with this little area! My husband did all the mill- work which I LOVE… but it looks so bare! I had our Christmas tree there which was perfect but now … I have no idea 😆
The back wall is about 65 in long so sadly the table doesn’t work there …. Any ideas welcome

What is this area: entrance way? front? garage? side? Show the area it is connected to, please

I will assume that window is faced to the front street since the Christmas tree was there. I think a large round rug is all that is needed now. I bet a plant would be happy on that table.

The door is the front door….

So sort of an entry way

Art on the walls? A plant next to the table.

Can ypu post a floor plan since it is hard to see how this space relates to the rest of the space you show. IMO the TV needs a new home where it can be viewed without breaking your neck

Is that space staying empty? A second rug would add color and fill the space. That table is too high where it is - it covers the window.

    In the top picture,

On the left wall, a beautiful mirror, and below it, put a table with a tray for mail, keys, etc.

Depending on the mirror, you might be able to use the table you currently have in front of the window.

Or instead of a table, a narrow chest.

Opposite, where you have the table and window, place a bench or chair with a small table.

If you live in an area of inclement weather put an umbrella stand on one of the sides.

Get a beautiful oriental rug runner for that entryway.

Your entryway and foyer are supposed to welcome your guests and set the tone for the rest of your house.

I agree with other commenters that a mirror and patterned rug would add interest. I love the walls but think it is just begging for plants. Some pothos in hanging baskets and a tall snake plant would add some greenery that you're missing from the Christmas tree.

Maybe you just haven't found the right combo of items.

these are all examples done on a wall w/trim work.

You could opt to do a bench across from your console. don't forget the larger rug

Maybe a big fiddle leaf fig.

I would find a bench, and a mirror. Both would be practical.

Move the furniture you already own around. Everything is bunched in one space. The table could be put on the long wall opposite where it is now. The clock could move to a right angle--the wall parallel to the front door. Perhaps you have some doo dad that is traditional and dark to place on the table and tie in to the clock. impressive millwork--it's worthy of your love.

There doesn't seem to be a well-placed outlet on the long wall opposite the window, but that's where I'd want the table to be. Center it on the last two panels and it will be close to that outlet around the corner and far enoughaway not to impede traffic from the front door. Hang art 5" above it. If that is a floor clock in the right foreground of your first photo, move it to the shorter wall. Add a large rug in the center of that area and use a small doormat-sized one like it at the front door.

You could potentially do a potted plant or a small reading/sitting area. Here are a few ideas from various designs we have done.

Chair with small table and lamp:

Plant (notice the one in the left corner):
