House smells like Smoke

Please can someone help me, so a few days before Christmas our boiler upstairs in the press broke and we had to get a new one put it but since it's been put in all we smell is smoke around the house, it's even worse when the oil heating is turned on. We had a leak from the boiler and it got into our ceiling but that had stopped since.

We can't reasonably help you with that. Call the contractor who installed the unit.

Don't mess around - it could be minor, or it could be very serious. Don't let them leave without a very good explanation.

I will second Jake's advice. A boiler with an oil burner should produce no odor. If it does then it needs to be addressed immediately. If don't have a carbon monoxide detector then you should go out today and buy one. A combination smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector also works.
