IMO your wall could use drapery panels & a linear light fixture over the table.

I also think your choice of window shades is pretty generic and woven wood shades would add more texture and interest to the room. Not sure why the table is pushed so close to the windows. The chairs should be positioned around the total table.

Beverly's mock ups are great. I think that it is not just a window treatment and color issue. This area just seems to be missing something. A rug to anchor it, a lighting fixture over the table, chairs not so crowded around the table.

Speaking of just the windows alone, you need color, texture and some form and function in as well. As Beverly pointed out, the treatments that are in the windows now are white, which blend into the already white room. The space is begging for some color to warm it just a bit. This can be done by using Roman Shades made of f fabric or Venetian Blinds made of wood. Ypu can add in some stuctutal elements to the space by using drapery om either side of the windows with some beautiful hardware. If the hardware is hung even higher than the top of the window itself, it can add even more drama to the ceiling height, and fill some of the space between the sill and the ceiling.
