In many cases, an architect is a very good investment. They can work with you and to design something that meets your needs and fits your site; and keep you from building an inefficient building that costs you more money than it needs to be. They can apply their education, experience, knowledge, creativity, and many times their passion to your project. Seriously consider have an architect involved in your project.

It looks as the upstairs is under a gable and will have kneewalls. The "angled" portion of ceiling should be shown, as that determines floor space and there are specific requirements to how much ceiling height and floor space is provided. There are also requirements for light and ventilation and both floors look to be inadequate.

These are things that an architect knows, among some other life safety issues.

A drafter is NOT an architect in in 99% of the cases has no design training. You need a person of design talent.
