Kitchen Window or cabinets?

My husband and I are gutting and remodeling my parents’ former house. I have been using Cedreo to visualize the new kitchen. I am trying to decide whether to keep the window shown beside the refrigerator in the pics or to add one more set of 30” double top cabinets. Currently the window is in the position where the stove is shown in the pics. We would be removing it and putting in a new construction window by the refrigerator. The thing is, the adjacent garage is outside that window, so it is not a nice view; however, it does let in the morning light and allows you to see when someone pulls in the driveway. The last picture shows the opening to the dinningroom to help you understand the setting and see that there is another window letting in some light. What do you think? Window or cabinets?

I added a new window to my kitchen. It required opening up the wall to the floor, adding a header and building support under the window. If you think you won't have enough light from the south facing window in your kitchen above the sink and the patio doors on the other side of the island, then yes I think you should add the third window in your kitchen if cost is not a concern and you are really wanting a view of your driveway. I think it is more a cost verses want rather than a design decision, cause who wouldn't want more windows in their kitchen.

Window and if possible put the sink under the window. If you can't do that then I would do more cabinets. I think having a window over just countertop might look a bit off

IMO the more windows the better, but something about that singular window in that little area looks off. What about taking down a couple uppers over by the sink and enlarging that window for a really big window over there, and put those uppers you took down from there over by the fridge instead of that window?

Just to be clear. You are keeping the 3-lite window over the sink. So this window will be in addtion to the sink window and the patio doors. I think people are not seeing that you have another window over the sink, because it's hard to decipher the sink window in the rendering.

They are windows abouve the sink, casement style with a latch on the left and handle on tje bottom.

I could go either way with the window next to the fridge. how would it look from the outside of the house - does that window relate well to the others on that wall?

What is in the island, is that a cooktop?

Thank you all for your thoughts. Yes, we are keeping the triple window over the sink. It doesn’t provide as much light as it is under a porch. The north facing window in the dinningroom is also under a porch. Those French Doors lead into a hallway to the Family Room (they help contain noise when closed). At the end of the hallway/familyroom wall, there is a window, but it is about 20’ away from the French doors. I feel like I really want that window by the fridge for light, but we have had 3 people design the kitchen and they are all trying to steer me away from it. I’m not concerned about cost as much as aesthetics versus practicality. I do have a small (24”) pantry to the right that is not shown in the pics. I had considered a garden window to fill with plants, herbs, etc., but they are costly and again, the straight on view is our garage. I may consider mxk3’s idea about widening the triple window over the sink and then putting cabinets beside the refrigerator.

The triple window over the sink would actually be a fixed window in the middle flanked by either casements or double-hung windows. There will not be a cooktop in my island. I’m using the free version of Cedreo and that was the only island that looked closed to mine. The ends of mine will overhang by about 9-10” for an eating surface with legroom.
