You've got a hotel set-up and hotel style bedding, so it's feeling hotel like ... all that's missing is the desk across from the chair. That being said, you also have no art or color, and it's neither light and airy nor moody; it's just neutral. So first thing I would do is pick a mood you want. Get some accent pillows, get some art ...

I like white, beige, sand, gold, greys and the colour of choice is navy. By warm up I mean make the room feel and look more aesthetically pleasing and cosy right now it feels pretty cold and dreary. Style would be fairy minimalist and modern/contemporary.

A bigger more colorful plush rug. Pull chair away from wall. Skinny console under tv or floating shelf?

Add some drapery panels to the window wall.

The room requires more texture to make it interesting

You don't need a new rug

I agree with a Persian rug (you can have blue in the rug) then pull out the blue from the rug and you can hang art that has blue.... add a couple of blue pillows.

When I first saw the photos I thought you were posting a hotel room. I do not mean that to sound rude... nice hotel rooms are lovely but can be non descript and void of personality.

You need to put your stamp of personality on the room. Also, turning on the lamps will instantly make it cozier.

I’m not suggesting these specific items, just showing how you could warm up the room, while staying with a monochromatic look (if that’s what you want, I don’t know).

A warmer toned rug, velvet and textured pillows, and more art along that wall (ignore scale and placement of this art, it’s just for a general idea):

A rug with some color and interest, even neutrals, makes a big difference.

If changing the rug is not an option, curtains, pillows, and art could certainly cozy things up. Maybe think of adding accessories on the nightstands … not clutter, but maybe a cool clock on one and a framed photo on the other (for just a couple of examples).

I would pick color from existing ones for drapes and wall art above the bed and some stand for plant.

Needs texture so a textured rug, you could layer up blankets and throw pillows on furniture for a cozy feel. Maybe a standing lamp I dunno!

You don't need to do much. Lovely room.

Add full wide drapes as many have suggested. The more texture the better - rough linen or even velvet. I generally don't like drapes puddled on the floor but it might be just the right thing in your case, especially if you won't be opening and closing them much.

Pull the rug towards the TV by a foot at least.

Add a piece of art above the chair.

Pull the plant out of the corner so there is a foot of space between any leaf and the wall/drapes. It looks squished now. It would look better a little higher so put it on a stand or plinth. Something simple like this one. Or on any low stool.

Add 2 larger and much more textured pillows on the bed e.g. flotaki shag.
