Note: i also attached a picture of my living area if it helps to get an idea of my living/dining area.

Idk for sure if mirror and new bench are with the dining table? or on wall opposite...

I think you're speaking of the wall where the blue bags are. I would not put a mirror there, but would put artwork. It does not seem like there's enough space between the table and that wall for a bench.

No one likes to look at themselves while eating; the mirror will only reflect that and the wood wall opposite. You have plenty of wood already in the room (it's nice, but there is plenty). The table already looks a little crowded into the corner, so if there is extra room in the walkway, I'd forgo a bench and move the table out of the corner a bit. Put up something colorful and interesting to look at on the wall instead of a mirror.

Also, it looks like you already have a bench in the living room? Two benches in such a small space is redundant.

Round to mimic the shape of the dining table and add interest to a wall that has nothing but rectangular shapes.

It would be a nice touch to bring the rough wood on the feature wall over to the mirror frame.

    Light for over dining table.

OK - now I am just killing time on a slow work day... (plus I am really into the dry bar thing)

I would add a gold & black pendant light over the table for some mood lighting. The texture and reflective nature of metal could be a nice contrast with all the wood. (plus a black accent to draw in the colors of the kitchen)

The picture light over the painting is also great for setting mood. You don't even need electricity there... just mount the hardware and use a battery powered LED pop light... with remote control, of course !

@JM, so you are suggesting that the mirror should go above the sofa? not sure if i agree to put it opposite to the TV..

You would definitely see the reflection of the TV as you got nearer to it - but I think viewed from the angle of the dining area (roughly a 45 degree angle?) you would most likely see the glass wall / balcony. It would depend where you are standing. At the end of the day though, design choices are very personal and should suit your taste perfectly.

That said - I love your space. You are going to have so much fun with this project!

I think art, and not mirror makes sense. The table look crammed against the wall. If you pull it out, so it doesn't look so crammed, I think you won't have room for a bench or a credenza, but unless you really need the bench or storage, that's what I'd do. I don't like mirrors behind sofas - the last thing I need to see when I'm in my PJ's sitting down to watch TV is myself.

    Wonderful suggestions.

Have you considered that your table is not the right one for the narrow area?

Here are just a few ideas on what might work across from your table in your dining room. Please take note of the mirror, consoles, and artwork.

A round mirror would soften the space.
