If youre set on doing a porcelain plank floor, start looking for a tile guy who has experience laying them. If the person who lays them doesnt understand these tiles, you will end up with a terrible install and lippage land. I have them in my Florida home and they are beautiful thanks in no small part from an experienced tiler. Also spend the money on a tile that minimizes pattern repeats, nothing worse than a ”wood” floor with a pattern that you cant unsee.

IMO wood look tile is a dated material and fools no one and tile is so hard on feet , knees and backs why not go LVP so much nicer for use .

Suggestion, opt for the palest shade of "brown" as that will allow you more color options for everything else. Finding "just the right shade of white" for walls/trim/cabinets is far easier when you don't have to consider the "white shade" in your flooring.

IMO I would take a porcelain wood look floor over fake plastic floors that arent fooling anyone. Or does that only apply to quartz?

The tile has to be rectified so the joints will be minimal. Check the repeat pattern for the tile. Some tiles repeat every 5 planks and some repeat every 30 planks so the quality is better.

I don't like either of the planks you selected. Here are planks that look like wood and are not too light.

The appearance of the floor can change with different grout colors.

M Riz, I really like the tile you used in the above photo. May I ask where you purchased it.

Also, keep the grout the same (predominate) color of the tile so it blends in.

Living in South Florida with all the heat and humidity I think the porcelain tile may work better over wood or laminate, or that is what I've been told. :-)

I just had my home built, the designer ordered it from the builders supplier. ill see if i can find out what it was . Its the perfect color (to me) for a modern coastal look. repeats are super minimal.

Yes, i dont have any carpeting. coming from a hardwood home it is definitely a harder surface. Its an excuse to invest in house shoes and comfy slippers. We have a dog that made a mess out of our hardwood, now the floors are (again, to me) beautiful and indestructable.

Looking to use a wood look tile throughout my house

As other people have said, tile is an extremely HARD floor. As a teacher, I have stood up on tile for 30 years now, and it has absolutely taken a toll on my feet, back and knees. In my own home, with softer flooring -- even if I'm up and around all day -- I feel less tired at the end of the day.

Tile is also very hard to remove, so -- if you go with it -- consider it a lifetime choice.

Having said all that, I much prefer the light-but-not-albino wood tone on the left. My own taste is one step darker than this, but the example on the left is a nice middle-of-the-road tone that will weather changes over the years. It also won't show every spot of dirt. It would form a nice foundation for your rooms.

and having a hard time choosing. I love modern simple coastal designs that are timeless. Love white kitchens and bathrooms with a touch of blue.

Your tastes are very mainstream, and you'll find plenty of materials in the stores.

I have had tile floors since 2005 and I'm 70 now and have had no issues with the hardness of the floors. Easier to keep clean and typically I'm wearing sneakers all day.

Tile floors throughout, aged 70. Wear a quality "running shoe" with excellent arch support (add compression socks if needed) and your legs & feet will be fine.

So funny but I think we picked the two same or similar. I think I’m going with the whiter one. We have white tiles now and I like the bright look.
