May be a bad lid lock. Not unusual that an electronic control machine nowadays will drain for safety reasons after a few mins of the lid left open .. i.e. the lid lock/switch doesn't register that the lid is closed.

Hmmm... So - if I start the machine with the lid open, it won't even start. It tries to lock, then beeps and stops. So.. I mean I suppose that could be it, but the lid lock is functioning and working in that sense?

the issue with the draining is minor... the BIG issue is not rinsing :-D

So replaced the master control panel. Same problem :(

I would try replacing lid lock assembly.

Weird things can happen when it starts to fail.

So actually - it now drains, but on the first 'cycle' about 3 minutes in, it does the 3 beeps. Is there a beep code list somewhere? Only thing I was able to find was 2 sets of beeps, ie <X> beeps, pause, <X> beeps. This is just 3 beeps.

So 3 beeps almost like 3 minutes into agitation, then it starts draining, and just pauses. The lid is still locked. Pressing the start / stop button does nothing - it just beeps twice. Press again, same thing. I have to hold the start button in for a few seconds for it to unlock. This help any?

Well two loads ran fine.. Another one today didn't spin / drain. :(

Ok - so here's what's happened. Initially replaced the master control panel. It ran a few cycles fine. Then started with the 3 beeps / drain / no spin. Then, replaced the motor control panel. A few loads ran fine, but what's happening now:

No spin rinse. It no longer does the 3 beeps, but it doesn't spin. It agitates fine, but when it should be spinning to rinse / 'dry', it just makes a sound of the pump going, but no spin.

Both george and dadoes commented upthread about the lid lock. They each are two of the most knowledgeable members regarding repairing washing machines. You have replaced what I imagine are costly parts and still have the same problem. I recommend you go ahead and replace the lidlock assembly or whatever they say to do, and if it is still does not work, consider replacing your unit.

I can certainly try that - I guess what I'm asking is based on having replaced both control panels and now the 3 beeps no longer happens, does it still sound like the lid lock?

Have you found a tech sheet on the unit, or other service information documentation at other sources and followed troubleshooting or testing procedures that may be detailed for it?

I've looked. Best I could find was a generic 'beep' guide for Frigidaire's, but each beep 'code' was a set - beeps, a pause, then beeps. This was just 3 beeps.

Reset: Unplug for 30+ seconds, turn back on, open and close lid 6 times within 10 seconds. Did try that multiple times.

Washer Full Control Reset

- Turn cycle selector to Presoak and temp knob to leftmost position

- Press and hold cycle selector for minimum 6 secs up to 8 secs (do next two steps within 5 secs of this step)

- Turn temp to rightmost position

- Press/release cycle selector (less than 1 sec)

- Three beeps indicates successful reset

Access Washer Diagnostic mode (must do within 15 secs of above steps, or a power unplug/replug)

- Turn cycle selector to Presoak and temp knob to leftmost position

- Press/release cycle selector momentarily (less than 1 sec) (next steps must be within 5 secs)

- Turn temp to rightmost position

- Press/release cycle selector less than 1 sec (all LEDs turn on & stay on)

- Turn temp to leftmost position

- Press/release cycle selector less than 1 sec (one 2-second beep)

- Turn cycle selector to Normal (all LEDs now blink)

Up to five stored error codes will "display" by way of beeps. No beeps means no codes. Count beeps (1/2 sec apart) for 1st digit/letter of fault code. 2 sec pause. Count beeps (1/2 sec apart) for 2nd digit/letter of fault code. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10=A, 11=B, 12=C, 13=D, 14=E, 15=F. Be ready immediately to count and note beeps (codes do not repeat until wrap around through all codes back to first).

- Press cycle selector (less than 1 sec) for next stored fault code. If no beep pattern after pressing selector, then previous code was last stored. Press selector again to wrap around back to 1st code.

- Press/hold selector 4 secs or more to clear all stored codes (don't do this until sure you've noted all stored codes).

There are many error codes so I'm not going to list them. You report back what codes you find, if any.

Thank you ! I wasn't able to find that, but I did the reset - it 'worked', but still having the no spinning issue. Did the error codes - I have no LED's so nothing blinks, but no beeps.

Just wanted to add something I may have neglected in my previous info that may give more insight:

When it fills, then agitates for a few minutes, then beeps 3 times, and then drains, it then 'pauses' for a good 5 minutes doing nothing. During this time, pressing the start/stop (aka unlock / lock) button, it beeps twice. I can press it 10 times, and it will beep twice each time and not unlock. I need to hold the button for a few seconds until it then beeps and unlocks. So wondering if that gives any more insight into confirming it's a lid lock issue? I suppose I can order the new lid lock and try....

Curious though - Is spinning and agitating the same ... method? What I mean is I've seen some washers where say agitating is done by a small motor agitating the drum whereas spinning to drain is by a belt driven motor. I guess what I'm getting at is it the same 'process' to agitate as it is to spin?

I'll have to try not interrupting the cycle when it happens. But here's something that just came to me...

I almost always 'soak' the loads I run. I let it fill, let it agitate for a minute or two, then press the start/stop button. When I come back and hit start to resume, about 3 minutes in, it beeps the 3 times, then drains, sits for a good 10 minutes before doing anything, then fills again, agitates, rinses, sits, fills, agitates, then rinses, then never spins dry - I can hear the pump running but it isn't spinning.

So - I decided what the heck - I did a normal load without stopping it to let it soak.

It still seems like it's taking an excessive time to drain - I hear it rinsing, the pump running to drain seems to run too long, then it does spin to dry. So now I'm totally confused LOL
