Stressless showroom or markdowns. No Stressless warranty.

I just watched a very informative video on You Tube. Stressless does not warranty showroom models or models sold under MSRP, unless it’s a factory authorized promotion. That means your credit card won’t give any coverage either. That will keep me from buying any discounted showroom power models. The video said to make certain your store will provide their own warranty.

Good to know. im sure floor models take some abuse and that stores must disclose no mfr warranty. .

I have never had a claim for Stressless so IMO not a factor if I am in a hurry I have done Stressless furniture for clients for years both floor models and orders and not one warranty issue. I am sure a reputable store will inform you of this if it is an issue BTW youtube is not where I get my info

Actually, the store did not mention it. I went to the Stressless site and it clearly states showroom models are not covered. My purchase is a stationary Mary sofa, so minimal risk. It’s being delivered in 3 days and I’ll inspect it carefully. I have purchased Stickley from this store 9 years ago. One leg on a large leather Otterman was cracked and repaired. This was a special order I waited for. I sent it back to the store. The replacement had a minor repaired split, no structural issue. I kept that one. My experience is that I may be better off with showroom models I can inspect. So many people complain (general web comments), that the furniture delivered doesn’t seem the seem as the showroom model.

To Pat Colwell. Hope to use your expertise.

My wife needs a footrest for the Mary stationary loveseat. Debating between the smaller (not the double), Stressless ottoman or ordering the footstool that comes with the recliner. Complicating the decision is the footstool by itself (the Mayfair is the suggested match), is about $ 1350, while the chair which includes the footrest, is about $ 2700. We can switch it around as needed. Retired so budgetary considerations matter. The thought of getting the recliner for just the extra $ 1350 is intriguing.

    I’d like your thoughts.

To Pat Colwell. I went by your comment and added the Mayfair chair with ottoman and the free accessory on promo. We selected the Elipse table.

This chair was on the floor and this is our dilemma. We are 76 and 74 years old respectively. We were told deliveries in general are running 7 months. At our age, that’s a lifetime. My wife didn’t want to wait. At 4’10, she fit perfectly in the small size showroom model. The owner ( in business 60 years, family owned, and carrying high end furniture), assured us the warranty would apply, as it is a full priced item, and included the promo accessory. Based on comments, I had the rep write “Stressless warranty applies.” That should protect me.

It is Rock Gray, looks black to me, while our Mary loveseat is silver gray. My wife likes the contrast. I would have preferred the same color as the loveseat, but 7 months?

We ordered an Amish entertainment center in January 2021. Told it would be 3 months. Delivered September 2021. That was a lesson learned. We didn’t want to repeat that experience. Now the Amish store has signs in the front entry, 8 to 9 month wait.

Okay. Another question. This deals with Stressless promos. I’ve just become aware of a $ 400 promotion on the Wing. I could order it in Rock Gray, (Rock Gray is close to black), the same color as the Mayfair. Currently, we have the Mary loveseat in silver gray, and the Mayfair in Rock Gray. We have a condo (seniors only), not that large. We have our Stickley Mission chair in gray leather next to the Rock Gray Mayfair, both face the TV. The sofa is angled to face the patio door, so it’s not next to the chairs. We do like the contrast between the Mary Loveseat in silver gray and the Mayfair in Rock gray. But - not crazy about the contrast between the Stickley gray leather mission chair and the Rock (blackish) Mayfair chair.

Since the Wing is a different style, would it be a design mistake to place the wing next to the Mayfair? Both would be Rock gray. I noticed last fall (2021), the Mayfair was $ 400 off. Do they repeat these promotions. It appears that the Mayfair and Wing have had repeated promotions. We are retired, budget conscious and $ 400 off is a serious consideration for us.
