It's really easy and cheap to send some samples to a company's lab to test for asbestos. You can Google a company to use.

We had to do this with did with our previous house to rule out asbestos before doing some work that would have kicked up a lot of dust/fibers.

I am getting a company to come check now. But my question is was asbestos still being used alot in 1987? What are the chances it could have asbestos. And so worried for my health. I really wish contractors would suggest this!

Thank you that helps. I guess I will find out after they check. The company coming actually scared me. I'm just praying it all comes back negative. I'm sure I'm not the first person that this happened to. Contractors really need to inform people about this.

When was your house built? It isnt likely the tiles from 1987 would have any asbestos in them. A good company, to come and check them out, should not be scaring you. You might want to find a different company. Scare tactics are not what good companies do.

I agree it's been a nightmare for me still very worried the company never mentioned a word about this!
