Would you please specify what you mean by "best classic cut rose"?

Are you looking for hybrid teas that are good for cutting? Are you looking for old garden roses that would be good for cutting? I am assuming your phrasing means you are looking for hybrid teas, but at the same time you posted it on the antique roses forum also.

We also need info like what area of the world, zone you live in, also if you would be spraying them for diseases. For example roses that would make wonderful plants in California would die in my yard in Alabama.

Old garden roses, disease resitant, zone 6a.

I dont grow many antiques so I cant Comment on those. Some of the modern roses I have with the old garden look that are also healthy here are:

earth Angel (blackspot free and fragrant)

Dark desire: (blackspot free and fragrant). Initially looks more hybrid tea but opens to a more old rose look

Madame Anisette: also can look more hybrid tea but open more old rose look

Princess Charlene de Monaco: it is a hybrid tea but doesn’t look like the usual hybrid tea. Very fragrant and last well. Decent health.

Okay... so where do you live, generally? Saying zone 6 is not much to go off of as far as recommending good hybrid teas for you.

Here is my suggestion, if you have the room: right now many Homedepots, Lowes and Walmarts have classic hybrid tea cutting roses: Mr. Lincoln, perfume delight, chrysler imperial, and etc. Many are around $10-15. Pick several you want to try...grow them, maybe in pots, see which ones you like and plant them in early fall with the graft (big knob) below the ground, mulch very well with leaves. You may get ones that have Rose Mosaic Virus from the graft, but it won't spread and they often struggle, but live for years.

That is the cheapest and most effective way to get what you want short of visiting a garden that has the old classics labelled....then you would still have to find them and they are out of fashion.

@The Gardener Of Everything Since you're photo references 'Mister Lincoln', I suggest you acquire 'Mister Lincoln', surely one of the best of the classic Hybrid Teas - good cut flower, excellent fragrance and good lasting power when cut.
