Coretec Advanced Plus Discontinued Debacle

I fell in love with Coretec Advanced Plus lvp flooring. I ordered 1200 sf in September of 2021. In January of 2022, I still had not received it. When I called the store, they told me they had just pulled the display off their floor and they have stopped selling it. Their reasoning for pulling this particular line? Way too many complaints about it coming apart at the seams and deteriorating cork backing underneath. Has anyone had this problem? If you are contemplating buying it, beware.

Following. Just picked up a sample of Coretec Advanced + and a local flooring store yesterday. Is this line discontinued?

Sometimes retailers have issues with suppliers and give customer BS reasons so check out reviews .

Jan Moyer, their website is still selling it. However, my local store stopped selling it, based on the information I wrote above. I've called Coretec and they deny there's a problem with the Advanced Plus line. However, I want my Houzz "family" to be aware that I had issues with it. Many of us use this forum to make decisions. Again, buyer beware. I would love to hear from happy Advanced Plus customers. I, too, love the appearance of the product.

Agree. I check Houzz to see how people feel about products. I am hearing there are production delays with the Coretec products….. and this will most likely steer me in another direction.

I just got off the phone with Shaw corporate. According to their spokesperson, the Advanced Plus line is being improved because of locking problems between the planks. You can order it, but they can't tell you an exact date the new, improved version will be available. Perhaps next summer or fall, according to their spokesperson.

I ordered Advanced + in beginning of March while trying to avoid a price increase and was told it would arrive in America June 23rd to July 2022, can’t pay until it actually shows up in America from China. So placed the order anyway. Now received notice that it isn’t due in till September 2022. But working in the flooring industry, and everyone having supply chain issues, and this product being manufactured in China with it now shut down due to Covid outbreak again, I suspect this won’t even show up in September. Over the past year, I have had all types of Coretec orders, and some of those ship dates have been bumped off up to 3 times.

I ordered 1200 sf of coretec advanced plus Ludlow Oak from fastfloors.com in aug 2021 and the original delivery date of Nov 2021 has been rescheduled 4 times with the most recent date promised now jul 2022, almost a year from my order date. i had to move back into my house without flooring in Dec 2022, so have been living with bare concrete floors ever since. My order is not refundable according to my purchase agreement. When i called fastfloors and Shaw (coretec manufacturer), they denied that there was any problem with the product, just ”supply chain” problems- which is now the excuse for any delivery problem.

Fast Floors is not an authorized dealer. Any legitimate dealer would certainly give you a refund.

@judith We ordered Coretec Advanced Plus in Wythe Oak. My husband who is a carpenter is trying to install it but it appears that the boards are “crowning”…basically more narrow in the middle. It seems to be affecting the longer boards and not the shorter ones and he is having a really hard time locking the boards together and even when he does finally get it, there are varying gaps in the boards. Something is definitely off. Thankfully this is just in one room in our house and we did engineered hardwood in the rest of the house but we are moving in on june 4th and seems like we may be floor less in this room haha. We are going to call the store tomorrow to see whats going on but i stumbled upon this feed in searching to see if other people had issues and it appears that we arent the only ones. It sucks because this considering very nice compared to the rest of the vinyl plank flooring out there and here we have an issue….so annoying!

I found out why my Coretec order got bumped to September. The Advanced + is having manufacturing issues. They tried making the vinyl more scratch resistant/harder, and in doing so the vinyl is too brittle and cracking in the field during install. I canceled my order. I don’t want to be there Guinea pig. I am now looking water resistant laminate for my new lake house, because scratch resistance is my number one priority, then water resistance, then cost (laminate is cheaper by a lot these days).

Christina Ponzio - Wondering if you could provide an update on how things worked out with your Coretec Advanced Plus install? We are also considering Wythe Oak in our basement.

I purchased lvp Best Friend by Provenza.  Love it and happy that it's made in California.  It's been down a few months without any issues.  It took about 6 weeks from ordering to Installation.

I just had Coretec Advanced Plus Prescott Oak installed. Love it so far.

I bought a whole house full of Advanced plus. It is a learning curve to get around the brittleness, but I figured it out. The problem I have is the second half of my order was delayed over 6 months. When it finally came in the butt end interlocking profiles were different so the two are incompatible. Had to modify the ends and glue to compensate. Royal pain in the butt. Once the floor is down it wears like iron. That is if you don't go crazy in the process. Damn you Coretec. Damn Chinese flooring. You also have to be extra diligent in laying out the pieces as they do a terrible job of mixing the patterns within a box. It works better to unpack a bunch of boxes and sort by size and repeat knots.

We ordered Advanced + and it was professionally installed. Now seven months later there is serious buckling. We ordered more boxes to replace the ruined planks. Unfortunately we discovered the new planks are not compatible. So we can’t finish the job. We are requesting an inspection. I hope Coretec replaces our flooring. Has everyone else had this problem?

I had Coretec Prescott Oak installed a few days ago. I’m hoping to reach out to Kaoltman for their opinion and advice. I’m not savvy on social media. I’m hoping I can make a connection.
    Thank you.

    Jzseaturtle-Sorry just seeing your post.

jzseaturtle-Not sure what questions you have about Prescott Oak. I had mine professionally installed however we laid a 3/8 premium wood underlayment on our subfloor. They were not going to install using premium wood. We have had no issues since install but did notice that a few boards had corners that were slightly chipped due to what we believe was caused during install by hitting it too hard. We filled this in with matching putty as we did not want entire board removed and new one glued down as our flooring is not glued down. Our entire first floor about 2300 square ft had about 5 little chips on the corners. The floor did make a clicking sound for several months but does not do that any longer. We have had the flooring for almost a year and no issues other than the above chips that we noticed right after install. Hope this helps. Thanks!!

Has anyone had issues with your Coretec flooring have a residue buildup that left streaks after mopping? if so,

how did you solve the problem?

    Thanks

cnunn - I tried several mops and finally switched to Coretec Encore cleaner and O Cedar microfiber quick wring mop and I have had no issues. My flooring is very light so maybe I don’t see any noticeable streaks or film.

I fell in love with Coretec Plus Enhanced Explorer Oak. I installed this in my downstairs area. After other projects in my home where completed. I was ready to install in the upstairs. I have just found out it has been discontinued. Does anyone know why it was discontinued? I am heartbroken.

Most flooring colors seem to be discontinued after a year or two. I think they want to make us buy all new when you need a repair.

Can anyone tell me what month and was it last year that Coretec pulled their Advanced Plus line?
