That’s a beautiful room! Do you have another photo from a little further back? How will the drapes hang- to the sides of the windows? The trim is lovely and I’d hate to block much of the view (and also it will block the light coming in).

I like either a thicker diameter rod or a thin wire that almost disappears. The drapes in my living room are functional but I don’t move them often. With proper construction of the materials they should be ok to move and not become damaged.

If you're using anything other than sheers the wider diameter rod would be better. That is a wide expanse you're covering and even with additional supports the smaller rods are more likely to sag.
