Zounds!! That's a whole lotta snow!!

We’re experiencing a horrid amount of snow in Michigan as well and it sometimes seems like Spring will never arrive! But, the days are getting longer, so at least there is that.

Rouge, I was just reading some of your posts in the clematis forum….I have Rooguchi on order from Brushwood nursery and have been searching for a obelisk to support it. I ultimately settled on an inexpensive 6ft steel one for now, but I do love the look of the wood obelisks so much better. If you were starting from scratch, knowing what you now know about the vigor and size of Rooguchi, what size/kind of obelisk would you purchase or build? H Potter has some gorgeous and sturdy very tall obelisks but they are so very expensive and want some experience with Rooguchi before I spend that kind of money. Thanks!

Pretty amazing. What variety of clematis is it? And where did you get your obelisk?

The one for our Rooguchi, not shown in this thread, is made of wood and painted a lighter shade of blue, is 4.5 feet in height and 3 feet by 3 feet at the base. The base dimension is fine but Rooguchi is very vigorous and so I wish this same obelisk was taller, say 6 feet in height but with the same base dimensions.

What variety of clematis is it?

@chris209 (LI, NY Z7a) it is a Tie Dye clematis.
