How did you paint the walls?

We have textured walls exactly like that. What was the process by which you painted them? What type of paint was used for the base? What was used for the and how was it applied?

    This one was 8 - 9 years ago so not remembering all the details but I believe they were painted with a normal sheen wall paint and then a glaze was applied over. The person installing it working in small areas as the glaze can dry very fast.
