I think that the rug and the marble may be too close in color -- the one may disappear into the other... I'd prefer something with a bit of color so that it provides contrast with both floor and table.

I am tryong to figure out how you watch TV there unless you lie down . The rug is nice not really working in my head with those very formal sofas and IMO the TV should go where that wall unit is and do you have apet since i see a crate. That rug is not a good idea if you have a pet since their nails will get caught in the loops and just not good. IMO the coffee table does not work with those sofas either it is very contemporary .

Thanks Beverly we are getting the 9 by 12. It is a large room and we are adding another seat. But that chart is helpful!

Patricia the tv is large that can be seen from any seat including the kitchen so we do not have to lay on the floor to watch it. The wrap around shelving unit and tv opening was custom made for the prior owner, a celebrity, who had also a personal designer create it. We don’t have any issues watching tv.

As far as the coffee table we too had an interior designer come in that chose the size and the style and we are happy with it.
