Lemon fruits looking scaly.

Hello! :)

I'm new to growing lemon trees. Following advice on this forum, my tree has been doing great! ... until now.

My tree went through two phases of growing fruit so far. Lemons from the first phase are looking great but lemons from 2nd phase started to change and their skin start to look more and more scaly.

Here's a picture of one them:

They didn't used to look like that at first. What is it and is it something that can spread to my 1st gen lemons? Should I get rid of the sick fruits? The leaves all look normal. It's just the 2nd gen fruits that are affected. Also, how can I treat it and prevent it from happening again? My tree just bloomed again and I'm about to have 3rd gen fruit.

I don't know fut I would get rid of the sick fruit.

Possible mite damage. Where are you located? Where is this being grown?

I'm in Tennessee. The tree is being grown in a pot, outside in summer and inside in winter. Fruits started to change while the tree was inside for winter. The tree was shipped from Texas, if that makes any difference.

It looks like mite damage, as Dave mentioned above. The damage is only to the peel and not to he interior , the fruit will still be good to eat.

If those are mites, shouldn't I be able to see them? I examined the entire tree and don't see evidence of any pest.

I guess I should spray some Horticultural oil then? Can it be done anytime? My tree is all over the place, I have mature fruits, baby fruits, flowers, new leaves and new branches growing right now.

Horticultural oil sprays can be sprayed and the fruit can still be eaten with a rinse
