It's such a loss. The pandemic got at least 2 shops in the greater Dallas area. One moved out to the suburbs. We had lost several in the last few years. I just checked another one, and it's down to 3 days per week 10:00 to 3:00. Plus, we lost all our outlet stores when a tornado hit that part of town a couple of years ago. Even Walmart has closed most it's fabric sections or reduced them to pre-packaged selections.

We're close to being a hobby that is supplied by online stores only.

The little sewing shop in our town square is gone with the pandemic. I think two of the shops in Paducah are also closed. It makes me very sad and I hope things start to look up soon.

The pandemic claimed my LQS, too. So sad.

Last year we got a lovely new quilt shop/Bernina dealer. They appear to be doing great, except for having difficulty getting machines. It replaces a slightly larger shop run by an absolute witch - okay that should really start with a "b", but I'll keep it clean! She was so awful the ladies in my guild would drive two hours to a nice place in Mississippi, until they retired.

The quilt shop/Bernina dealer in our lake place's tiny town is also going great guns. Ladies drive from all around. They have a large selection. The owner and her staff couldn't be nicer. That's the key!

Well, I managed to refrain from buying anything except a couple of fat quarters until two days ago. We're leaving Palm Desert on Monday, so I just HAD to go take a final look. All fabrics were $6 per yard. I found backings for three quilt tops that I've got waiting to quilt. So, I think I did a pretty good job of not going overboard. I'm so sorry to see the shop close. :(
