Live load requirement for new flooring structure is typically 40 lbs per sq. ft. (bedrooms 30 psf) making that space capable of supporting between 1,470 lb.- 1,960 lbs. Oak hardwood flooring 3/4" thick weighs about 2.8 lb psf , a total of 3,360 lbs. (If the wood is in boxes, the weight should be on the box.) So, no. Spread it out.

I did not feel like doing the calculations, but spreading it out will acclimate it better anyway.

Just to clarify, what Worthy is saying is that you need more like 85 sqft to spread it over, not the 49 you are talking about.

Keep it near exterior walls and interior supports and away from the mid span of the joists.

Spread out on the floor will acclimate faster compared to stacked up in a pile as others mentioned. If, you are to stack it up. 20 to 30 bundles per room laid across the joist. Leave some space between bundles.

You could fill the room to the ceiling with flooring.

I should've specified in my original post that it's unfinished red oak, so we don't have boxes to give us the weight of the flooring, but it looks like it's unanimous that we should not put that much weight in a 49 sq ft area. Therefore, we'll spread it out over a couple of rooms. Thank you, everyone, for your help with this. The short term inconvenience is certainly better than the disaster that could result if we had stuck with our original plan!

I acclimated my flooring anywhere it would fit. Under beds worked well because it was out of the way.

This is how we acclimated our engineered wood floors, and even then the installer wanted to do a moisture reading before starting.

Spread the boxes, don't pile them up in one spot

Not sure if this applies to your wood, but you might want to consider it.

I dislike the 'patchwork' look of a hardwood floor laid with short boards, so we had our floor guy buy a couple of extra bundles and toss the short boards in each bundle. You can sometimes use up short boards in less visible places, too...like closets.
