Your builder already installed a thermostat, an air handler with evaporator coil and condensate drain and a lineset to run refrigerant to the condensor outside ... but no condensor? That seems odd.

You will need to provide complete model numbers and location for anyone to give an opinion on the prices. Does the installation include the line set, coil, and the required wiring?

That's high for a single unit if it's just a matter of connecting them to existing ductwork and lines/electric. Prices right now are insane but I guess you have few options. Look online to get a rough estimate of the cost of the equipment - the rest is labor.

Doing this piecemeal yields the worst possible and most expensive result possible. There’s WAY more work and parts needed to make things work together than you ever suspected. The entire system needs to be planned and installed as a whole. Since that wasn’t done, you have to start over with the heat load and loss calculations, to see if *anything* installed is actually *correct* for the home’s build. Including your condenser choice.
