Seeking area rug input and a Chair Decision

I think 5x8 is the right size. Distance from outer edge of one chair to the other is about 7', but since they are angled the inner corners are only about 2' apart. As you can see in the photo, my dinette table abuts the area. The walls are pink and taupe and I want to accent the pink but not make it an overwhelmingly pink space. The kitchen, which is entirely open to this, is taupes and grays with the same wide plank flooring extending into it.

Regarding the chairs, I think I prefer the one with the geomatric print (which is stolen from the coordinating sofa set in a nearby room) to the embroidered flower one, which I bought specifically for

the space. As you can see in the photo, it is much too small in scale compared to the recliner. I wonder if I can put a large, tall plant behind it to give some balance. Or, an idea that a friend just offered: put the geometric and the floral together in this space, and put the gray leather in another room. Which has its appeal. Help. I have pieces I love but no talent for assembling them.

So, again: which chairs where, and what kind, color, and size of rug?

I'd like to see the rug with a little more blue to it. I see more blue in your room than green. Even though the rug is kind of aqua in color, I still think it needs more blue in it. How many people (not including guests) usually use this space? Let's see what others say.

I think you need drapery panels to help soften the space.

a soft linen panel wouldn't take away from the other patterns.

at the very least, the front legs of the chairs should be ON the rug.

IMO 2 matching xhaois in such a small space for sure IMO the blue one is a bit of fun and when in such a small space I think would be great . It gives you colors to pull into the DR and I have to say pink walls in a main living space are not attractive at all they always remind me of a super glitzy glam space or a bedroom neither one od which are yours. I do not think you have room for a 5 x8 rug in that space and I guess the rug you shoew really does not work with either of the cahir choices and honestly really IMO not with the country style dining either . My advice pick a style and then come back. BTW I love the rug so maye start there but make sure it fits since right now IMO a tripping hazard. BTW almost any chair from the therapy space would be better than those . A pretty end table not wicker too and a good lamp

Please allow me to clarify: I do not own the rug;I am hoping to add a rug to the space and I liked that one but fear it doesn't work with what I already have.
I do own all three chairs and want help on which two can work in this space AND on a suggested size and style of rug.
Also, Patricia, I don't know what you mean by xhaois or by therapy space - are these typos?

One other thing... I understand that you do not think that pink walls in a main living space are "not attractive at all". Thank you for this opinion. I, however, think it is lovely and have chosen it for this and other reasons. It will be staying.

I like the geometric patterned chair also. Soft pink or white sheers would be awesone. Love the pink!
