Doorbell Transformer Replacement

Hi, sorry for the novice question. I don't have electrical knowledge so trying to do a simple project and not sure what to do.

Installed a google wired doorbell cam. when the doorbell is pressed it is not hitting the chime. Have read that it is likely due to the transformer not being powerful enough. I have bought a 24v transformer that I hope will work but the old transformer had three wires from one end: a green (tied to a bare copper wire) a black (tied to a double black wire) and a white (tied to a double white wire). The new one only has a black and white wire. What should I do?

Also, there was a white wire coming out of the wall and connected to the chime FRONT terminal ... and red wire coming out of the wall connected to one end of the front of the transformer / the other end of that red wire to TRANS on the chime. Does it matter which red goes where on the transformer (one terminal on the front of it says LOAD above it, the other says NEC).

Should i use this and connected the incoming white and red to it (connecting the connecter open wires to the terminals only)? Or should i just ignore the 'insert' ends and just connect the wires to the terminals so it's two wires each on TRANS and FRONT?

The green wire on the transformer is just a ground wire connected to the case of the transformer. if the new transformer doesn't have a green wire, look for a screw terminal on it that may be painted green (NOT one of the two on the front which are the output terminals). Actually looking at the pics on ebay, there is a silver screw where the B&W wires come out of the transformer. This is almost certainly for connecting a ground wire.

The two front terminals on the transformer are the 'secondary' or output winding of the transformer. They are electrically equal (as opposed to the input wires where black is hot and white is neutral). LOAD means to hook up your chime to those terminals. Doesn't really matter which way. NEC is Natl Electrical Code. I'm not sure why that is there but it doesn't indicate that the terminal next to it is different from the other terminal. I assume one of the red wires goes to the button to break the circuit (and then to the chime) and the other goes directly to the chime.

I don't know what to tell you about the Google Nest chime, there should be instructions with it.
