I like it a lot. The majority of this board is into minimalism … with neutral and faded/abstract rugs, so yeah, I’m not surprised it wouldn’t get a lot of love here.

Do some searches for overdyed rugs in rooms. IG is a great place to look.

Getting more specific: what is your budget for bedding? Can you show more of the room/furniture/window? Do you want a quilt, duvet, coverlet, comforter? Are you in the US? What style(s) of decor do you like?

1. My budget for bedding is mid-range. With three big dogs running around, I wash our linens frequently. So, a quilt or coverlet is our best bet. The room is sparsely furnished. The rest of the house is a mix of transitional, french country, and contemporary furnishings. And the bedroom's dimensions are 14' 10" x 15' 8".

I, too, think it's very nice looking - so much better than the fake faded worn out looking stuff that seems to be having its 15 minutes of fame. I like the way cream looks with it.

I'd be thinking either a dark brown (like the accent color in the rug) ... or, since you mention french country, a toile, if you can find one that the blues don't fight ... maybe one with sepia or red print instead of blue to go with the rug accent, and then some pillows that match the teal of the rug.

I would select bedding that is mostly white but has a border of whatever blue matches the rug. I would also add patterned pillows with a blue color scheme.

I am playing devil’s advocate. Why do you want to spend good money decorating around something you say is “ugly”? If you really hate it, cut your losses and sell it. Decorate your bedroom to make you happy. Do you really want to feel sad every time you enter the room? Only you can decide if any of the great suggestions here will make you fall in love with this rug.

Would it work under your dining table where most of it would be hidden?

The master is the largest room in the house.  No other room could accommodate this 10' x 14' rug.  I ordered bedding that I hope will balance the saturated blue color.  We'll keep it for at least a year.

What did you order for bedding?

Referencing the palettes suggested on this thread and the advice to embrace color, I bought a white blanket, a light gray blanket, and a burnt umber quilt with shams.  I hope that the textures and colors of the bedding will balance the saturated blue of the rug.  And if the bedding looks awful, I'll return it and try again.  I feel more upbeat after reading the responses to my post.

Not sure the gray is going to work with your rug.

If you don't like the quilt you ordered, you might try looking for a shade lighter than the lightest blue, or the opposite, look for a darker blue. Other workable colors might be the golden tan that I often see in comforters, a deep warm cream, or a calm sage green (looks like there might be a hint of green in the rug?)

Or you could send it to me, I think it would be fun in my family room!

Maybe bedding that has blue and brown could be an option
