IMO a door and frame are one piece usually so one color IMO but without pics I am only guessing about yours

I would add a hanging light fixture from the porch ceiling and /or a spotlight on the front lawn shining on the front door. The wood door and sidelights are lovely; don't change them.

I like the wood stained, just like it is now. Painting part white, would be distracting. I agree, you could use some better lighting.

I looked into a hanging light but it was becoming too complicated to install. We did change the light fixtures (which are hidden behind the columns) this weekend and looks great at night, but still a bit dark during the day.

I think the door and sidelights should be the same color - just like they are. But agree that the dark wood and medium tone paint are making the entry look very dark. I wondered if a lighter exterior rug might help bounce some light in there. A light natural jute rug perhaps, and maybe some light planters with light flowers etc would contrast great against the dark entry and give a lighter feel.

Address numbers on gable? Photos not posting but lots of examples on interweb. Etsy has lovely numbers.

The house numbers used to be on the gable but I wasn’t fond of the look. I opted to put them on the mailbox which is hiding behind the columns in the photos. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
Once the weather warms up, I will be adding planters with light green and colorful foliage and blooms. I considered cement gray planters but the thought it might blend with the porch. I could try terracotta color.
While the house is a traditional colonial, I do prefer clean lines with a modern look.

I put my house numbers right in one of my columns. Bronze numbers on white columns-See it so easily now versus having it on the house.

Keep them matching. Find other ways to make your house stand out.
