Knocking Sound When Toilet Running/Refilling

I have one toilet in the house that seems to have a continuous knocking or tapping sound when the tank is refilling itself. I don't think it's a hammer because it's continuous even when the water is running. The sound is attached.

Some additional observations:

  • It's only happening with one toilet, not other toilets in the house.
  • I can't get the knocking to happen on other water sources for any flow rate (including the sink/tub faucets in the same bathroom as the toilet)
  • If the toilet is refilling itself and I turn on another cold water faucet in that bathroom, the knocking stops. It only seems to happen if this one toilet is refilling and no other water is running.
  • I tried to reset the pressure by shutting off the main water valve to the house and running the faucets. Once I turn off all the faucets and turn the main back on, the knocking disappears for about a week but then comes back.

Does anyone have any ideas on what is happening? Is this an issue with the pipes or perhaps the toilet fill valve?
