Okay so without any info or a floor plan there is no way to know what Ikea could be used IMO the warranty on cabinets is important and I go Ikea everytime for that. The warranty on a lot of cabinets out of China is not worth the paper it is printed on since it will require you shipping the defective parts back to the maker . The best design help for kitchen design is an independant KD who has many different cabinet makers to choose from. I have been doing KD for almost 30 Yrs and have never come across a kitchen I could not use Ikea in . So post a to scale floor plan of your kitchen showing windows , doorways where the doorways lead and all measurements clearly marked. If there are limitations as to where the plumbing and gas lines are then show those. All measurements for appliances for sure. You will then geta ton of free design help.IMO a cabinets salesperson has one job , to sell as many cabinets as possible .

Patricia, I appreciate the reply, but it sounds like you don't have experience with TheRTAStore? They come with a 20 year warranty, FWIW, which is on par with Ikea's 25 year or other companies' warranties. While the parts are made in China they are not shipped from China.

I have gone through the design process with two designers already, but the price doesn't meet my budget. As I said, I cannot use Ikea cabinets because they don't have a diagonal corner base cabinet. My floors were finished after the existing cabinets were installed, so it's important that I match the footprint unless I want to redo the floors (which I don't).

Cheap import JUNK. As are 99.9% of all RTA’s.

@verbo, can you tell me more about your experience? Did you get some and have issues with quality?

If they are made in China they are shipped from China how elese would they get here and read the warranty very crefully before comparing this to Ikea. I like the install system for Ikea so much better than any other less expensive cabinets so that alone would still keep m going Ikea.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting, as I explained, Ikea is not an option for my kitchen. Yes, the cabinets are made in China, but they have warehouses here in the US. This is very much like Ikea, where the cabinets are not made here but they still have the parts in the warehouses in the US. It sounds like you really have a problem with China.

I have a similar queation and was hoping more people on here had real life experience with the preassembled options from TheRTAStore. i have also considered IKEA and have recently been looking at Boxi by Semihandmade (which are allegedly made in the USA). Unfortunately Boxi is severely limited in the colors being offered. I am trying to not go through a 6+ month kitchen reno and that is why I am considering RTA and preassembled.

Ikea caninets are made by a company in Ohio which is in the US. Any good installer can make an Ikea cabinet work in a corner.

Following. I am considering thertastore.com to get pre-assembled cabinets and I'm wondering about the quality. I also can't use IKEA because they don't have the sizes of base cabinets I need. The rtastore website states...

So.... Unclear if they are made in China or not. And they won't tell us who makes them..

Which is disappointing, I'd like to know that information.
