Don't you think it would be helpful to show the left side of the property, and a floor plan of the house so someone might suggest how the home and garage might be connected.

This is the only photo we have. We are under contract but cannot enter the property to take photos.

Lovely house. I'd look for the addition to look like a detached garage, but have a breezeway or link between the house and garage. The house being raised is an advantage as the garage won't overwhelm the house
