If you already have a cabinet maker for the project, they should be able to make you the door and source the mesh panel.

Use a crate and have flexability as to where you locate it.

@M Miller thanks for your contribution. they are custom dog kennels built into a mudroom with a quartz top. not a metal

crate you buy at home depot. the cabinet maker only carries higher end mesh used for decorative paneling rather than the metal work in typical dog crates and could be damaged if by their nails.

Crates are available in all sorts of sizes, shapes, and materials at Amazon, Chewy, any pet supply store or on-line store.

I would never take dog in car without a properly secured crate.

@Christina M did you ever find an answer? We have cabinets that are actually designed for glass fronts that we are going to use as custom built-in dog crates. The fronts are currently open, and I have only located the mesh that you referred to above, but would like to find something like you would see on the front of the plastic dog crates.

Also: what are you using for your latch on your custom dog kennels?
