The bottom cabinets will be a charcoal. We’re trying to open it up a bit and thought the white would balance the dark? I love soapstone… we did consider granite but it was way too busy with the floor.

^^ Oop, sorry I missed that the first time around.Not all granites are busy; some are quite sedate. You might even stumble on a light blue or light green countertop that might look quite nice if you take a trip to the stoneyard.

I want to go with neutral on the big items and I add color in other ways just because I tire of things easily. I guess im just wondering if the granite and the undertones all work together? Im sure there’s tons of different directions we could go in. Thats what makes it so oberwhelming! lol

With the busy floor, I would consider looking at some black counter options along with other white or soft grey counter options that are subtle and more solid. The floor is sending a strong message that it wants to be the standout in the space, lol.

Fair enough. Undertones get really tricky with whites and off-whites, and there have been lots of posts about people not getting the quartz countertop color they thought they were getting (samples can yellow over time due to the high resin content, and since it's man-made batches can vary). Lots of people like Corian, too -- another consideration, and if you do want white you probably have a much better chance of getting what you want with Corian. Or consider a light grey in a tone that matches the floor.
