How to protect seedlings from birds?

I am building a shade house. Here's a current progress photo.

Last year I had two issues. One was providing shade for Ligularia and Hosta starts. The other was protecting sun loving seedlings from birds. I think mostly crows. I would find them ripped out of the ground and just laying there. What kind of structure could I use that wont block sun and won't trap too much heat?

You don’t need a structure. Make tunnels or domes out of chicken wire or hardware cloth for each row or container. You can move them around the garden easily.

That's a good idea. I keep most of these in containers and up on tables/benches to reduce the number of bed overs I have to do, but I could make a tunnel of either chicken wire or that bird netting and put that on the tables.

Shade house is complete. Though with our cloudy and chilly weather it's not really required...yet. I am still hopeful it will warm up. :o)
