Something like this is an option with a low ceiling. What are your cabinets like? Is this a full reno, or trying to work with older cabinets?

I have white shaker cabinets but the island is a navy blue but also shaker. our appliances are black stainless and a farmhouse whote sink

We are in the same boat with 8’ ceilings in an older (log) home renovation. Installing a Bluestar gas range and hoping to put a simple prostyle bull nose hood over the range. Need 24” deep front to back so have to have it around 33” from range top to avoid head bumps, then the hood itswlf is 18” in height. 36” stove height + 33” clearance to hood + 18” hood height = 87” This doesn‘t give us much room for a decorative wood panel vent cover and ceiling molding but it is doable. Pretty much just the crown molding with a filler to blend with the cabinets. most important is that the hood has the needed CFM’s and capture to move fumes out of thw kitchen and then we are also having to retrofit a make up air system in an older log home in an extreme cold and snowy climate! 😅
