Pantry upper cabinet directly on the countertop

The pantry area looks like an upper cabinet hung directly above/on top of a base with countertop - are they both 24" deep? Interested in doing something like this in my kitchen, but was thinking a shallow 15" deep base cabinet with a 15" upper practically sitting on top of it.

    In this case the base cabinet is 24" deep and the countertop cabinet is 17" Deep. You could absolutely stack 2 15" deep cabinets on top of each other to create a pantry though. Just be sure to thoughtfully consider the seam and how you will handle that. Best of luck with your project!
