A question with no context is never good. We need to see the house not just the door so take a pic from further back please

Seems odd a glass company couldn’t replace the glass. I would try another. I’m with you that the pattern wouldn’t be my aesthetic either, but don’t think it looks bad at all.

It seems like something that wouldn't work, but it does. It's subdued as those things go. It's a good way to get light into your entry while obscuring the view.

It doesn't seem like something you need to be in a hurry to change, so you can have other glass companies look at it or wait and see if it grows on you.

It's a pretty door except for the glass, which I agree looks dated. I would try more glass companies. This is your brand new home and you should love it all!

I agree and could not live with that glass given the clean lines of the house - If it were me: I would try a few other glass companies and if I did not have any luck, I would bite the bullet and replace and try to find someone else who might want it to keep it out of a landfill if possible

The not-to-your-taste front door is eclipsed by the stained front porch. After that is taken care of, you should look at replacement door$. I don’t like front doors which allow someone on the porch to look inside…a temporary fix might be tightly-shirred sheers inside on top-and-bottom rods. They can reduce peeking, and you can see from inside if a person is on the front porch.

The doors are a minor issue compared to some other things here that would aggravate me, but if you love everything but those, do change them.

Thanks for comment felizlady. Stained front porch has already been addressed. If I installed temporary sheers, I feel that would eclipse the dated glass. Privacy isn’t a concern for me.

Keep looking for someone who can replace the glass. Another avenue might be to find out the door manufacturer and explore their website for “options.” If the door itself is a stock item with “options” like leaded glass or solid panes…it might be a “clue” to the fact that the centers are “inserts” that can be substituted for others, including plain glass or, perhaps, receded glass. Just a thought….

Not sure if the glass has a texture, but if not a temporary solution may be to install a frosted film that will subdue the pattern.

Kate, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe there is a product out there that could make it less noticeable, the pattern. This house is 9 hrs. away from our home, so I would have to look at how pronounced the texture is on our next visit. Thank you!

The glass can be replaced. You just need the right company to do it. Shop around.

IMO wait until you finishe the landscaping and then see if the door is so bad I need to know more about the interior style The privacy thing always makes me chuckle who stands at your door looking in for fun and if a friend pretty sure they have seen your house and also pretty sure if they are coming to visit you are not running around naked. IMO the whole privacy thing is just in your imagination. I live in a house with huge windows everywhere and I never close my drapes or think of outting cutains on my doors. I agree a new door is in your future but so many other things right now to take precedent.

Just suck it up and replace the door.

I like the door but would replace the glass. Many doors now just have inserts that can be replaced

It seems like a single door would be the right move here…with small sidelights to fill the slightly oversized opening…as is ….you are confined to using one narrow door …..very close to the edge of the opening…not ideal…especially if you are carrying anything…

What brand is the door? Maybe you could call manufacturer and see what they do in case someone wants to change the glass or when it is damaged. When I was buying front door I could choose many glass options for my door. Maybe the manufacturer could advise you what can be done to change the glass to simpler design?

“Hello Lisa, thank you for the pictures. I have shown the pictures to our technicians and they believe that this door glass would be very difficult to remove. Plus, we do not normally work on wood products or sell them. So with that being said, we would not be able to help you with this project.
