We added this coffered ceiling to our master bedroom for added interest and dimension.

The ceilings in my formal living room and master bedroom have multiple levels. This was our builders idea and something he was doing a lot of back when we built in 1999-2000. The interior designer I hired to help me during the later part of the building process suggested textured wallpaper for the inner part of the ceilings. Our painter painted over the wallpaper in the same white as the rest of the ceilings. If you don't look too closely, it's hard even for professionals to hide the seams on textured wallpaper, it looks like a painted punched tin. Most people don't stare at my ceilings but everyone who's noticed it loves the look.

We built an Italian Farmhouse 4 years ago. We have beams in the kitchen, in the dining room and a wooden ceiling with beams in the great room.

This is in my master bedroom, in the area of the closets. I got the idea from a Manhattan entryway

I completed a coffered ceiling in my family room a few years ago.

Doing this to the angled ceiling in my master bedroom is on my list.

I fell in love with the exposed beams in our home. We recently dramatized the fireplace for added effect.
