I’m in Texas and she gets huge here

Mine here is not at all huge. I think it could work. I have one impacted by tree roots that is 3 ft at several years old. My William R Smith, which may be Marie von Houtte, is my monster.

I have two in thankless heavy clay that are shrubs of reasonable dimensions, and one, in a terraced bed, that's a hefty climber. How big it will want to get depends on its growing conditions. Like Prof. Manners (hello, Malcolm!) I like to see roses get as large as they're capable of. It is a splendid unbuttoned rose.

I hope mine takes off after we removed junk trees (Leyland Cypress).

Hey! We like Leyland cypresses! But I think I know what you mean: they're not for all situations.

I am in a hot humid 9a. (moving to a 8b) Ive had Mrs B R Cant for several years. She easily is 6ft. I think she can be managed to be 5 ft. but it would be work l. She was in an out of the way spot in the garden and didn't get much care.

She has proven her worth as a great disease resistant heavy bloomer. I am giving her a prime spot by the driveway at our new farm. I hope I dont kill her by moving her.

I had to cut MAC way back and then moved her and she is on death's door step now. I hope she comes back from the roots :(

Sultry_Jasmine_Nights, it may be worth a thought, that both these varieties grow easily from cuttings.

I grow Mrs. BR Cant in a very warm climate, but she is in the shade of a bunch of other, larger, roses. She is 5-6 ft high and has been that for years - maybe shade is the answer?
