Gorgeous! I have always wanted that rose, but somehow that never happened. There was one at my MIL's house I took care of for a while - It had gotten rather large too. One day the gardener decided to hard prune it as if it was a HT. It almost died, and was not itself again for about 3 years.

Ohh, so sorry that happened! It was taller, but during one of our last heavy rains, the tall part laid down behind it, to the right and never set back up straight, I was fretting, and Idk if you can see them, but it shot up two new beautiful red canes, and I realized and told my husband, I thought it was scaffolding. I have read about it, but haven't seen it. Always learning 😊

I saw one once down in the Po Plain that was about the size of our living room (memory may exaggerate). I lost mine here that was on the escarpment, and also the one I had in Washington when the water from the gutter wasn't trained away from it and a wet, i.e. normal, winter did it in. It's a great rose, and I hope to have it again one day. Alana, enjoy yours!

It's beautiful! Don't the blooms remind you of silk? i had a new band that was doing quite well till it was done in by the 1-2 punch of baby bunnies and then a late freeze after it had already leafed out. I think next time i'll leave it in a pot till it's big enough not to be threatened by bunnies, anyway. Hope yours will continue to thrive and be more glorious every year.
