I like the glass coffee table even though it will be harder to keep clean. I love your rug!

I like them both. the glass one is prettier -- but do you have a kid in the house? Not only will the glass be harder to keep clean, the edges just look more severe for small humans running around.

The wood is going to be more practical in general, and it looks really good too.

I dislike glass tables, plus I prefer the X-base of the wood ... so I vote wood.

Love the glass table with your furniture. it blends better and i like that you can see the pretty rug undernearh

How many "leggy" pieces are in the room? Don't go overboard with them.

Honestly I don't like either in your room. The glass one is too little of a presence and the wood top is another "beige" element.

I sympathize as finding my coffee table took me months as nothing caught me fancy or they were the wrong size, material or configuration. I finally found one but I am still having it modified to change one of the "tops" to make it a more balanced presence visually.

Is a round coffee table the most functional - have you considered tables that pull apart or nest so that people have access to a table. From the photo there are no end tables so where would someone put down a drink easily?

How about a nesting coffee table? That when you can pull apart when needed.

I like the glass coffee table but I agree with Helen it does not have a big presence. I think this one would work better

I have a glass top coffee table and I don't find it too much of a problem to clean. I use a Norwex window microfiber cloth. It is a bit expensive ($25CD) but this cloth is amazing. Wet the cloth with water and wipe the glass. No need to rub and dry the glass. The glass dries all by itself without leaving a trace.

The wood.

Not a fan of either, but if you narrowed down to these two, and it looks like you have children, the wood one.

It seems you are aiming for an airy feel and the wood tone, bit larger size, and stye on table below might suit.

A square or nesting tables might have greater functionality for a family and suggest considering going larger vs smaller.

Between the two I prefer the solid top table. As someone else said, the glass top just has too little presence. Would definitely consider some of the other options folks have given you here.

Not suggesting this specific table but I think this type of configuration is more functional for your space.

I like the glass top.
