Why not some frosted glass sliders ot frosted glass doors like you hve but that open in the center could you post a pic of the closet inside ? To me a walkin closet needs storage above all elese so all those doors just steal storage space IMO I would do a double door withthe frosted or pixelatted glass and close up the other space . It would be nice to see the space as it is now too. I am never alover of a wall of mirrors in a master bedroom

I’d paint those gold frames black for now. You’ll be surprised how well the spray paint for metal works. I did it to a brass fireplace screen and it was both easy and transformative.

if you're going to change them out anyway... I would spray paint the gold out with WHITE, as your sheers are white. Just to get rid of the dated gold

... OR introduce something else gold or shiny brass, like it was intentional.

How wide is the opening?

Thanks! The walk-in closet is a small one, wide rather than deep. It has enough room for me so that is not a concern, thankfully. But it really couldn't be made smaller. The doors also don't take up more than two inches or so of room.

Susan, I am not sure about black as there is no other black. But white might be possible until I can get rid of the doors. I will ask my painters about that as I wouldn't trust myself to do it now that I am living here. Patricia, frosted glass is an idea. I might look into that or antiqued glass because I really do not like the wall of mirrors either. (The master bathroom is an unfortunate testament to the 1970s trend of mirrors! mirror! mirrors! too.) Kandrewspa, each door's opening is 23 inches.

My house had metal sliding closet doors. We painted the doors and trim with the room's wall paint 25 years ago and have had no problems. I bet you could paint right over that mirror glass.

Anybody who has painted windows knows that paint sticks to glass just fine.

Paint out the frames of the doors and then decide if you want to paint the mirrors or install maybe a linen-like wallpaper for texture.

You can purchase peel and stick wallpaper at HD, Lowes, Target etc.

Is that a gold sunken tub in your bathroom that we can see a peak of? LOVE IT!!!

For the long term plan, I'd consider two 36" bypass doors instead of three 24" doors, you'll get a larger entry on each side.

In the meantime, using the mirrors to bounce light in the room will help keep the clean and airy feel you want, plus you'll have full length mirrors to help with dressing. Consider hacks that will update the doors like installing grids. The size of the grids you select can lean toward modern, traditional, etc. Here are examples of white, black and gold.

ptreckel, it sure was. Harvest gold. I hated it and got rid of it as quickly as I could.

I will try to get pictures but I have to have a friend do it because while my (flip) phone takes pictures I do not have texting or internet services so I have no way to get them into my computer.
