Neec help with pool coping

I’m trying to remodel my pool that was built in 2008. The current coping is only 1 1/4” thick. Most companies have told me that I’m limited to natural stone since precast coping is now thicker and pour in place concrete requires minimum 3”. I can’t do natural stone because it’s far too slippery for me (I have a young child). I recently found a subcontractor that says he can do pour in place but I’m worried and confused. Can anyone tell me actual minimum depth required for pour in place concrete coping? Thank you!
