Seeking appropriate wall art sizing

Hi. I live in an apartment and I have a very bare wall with a console table against it that is 30" H x 42" W. The wall from floor to crown molding is 101" H (~8ft) and 68" W. The only thing on the wall is a smoke detector pretty high up and something that looks like a an outlet cover. What is the ideal size of wall art I should seek for the area? Thanks in advance!

I can change the vase decor. This use to sit by the entryway until I started working from home and was sent a desk.

Here's a pretty good "rule of thumb" I use and it works well. 5-5-75 or hang art 5" above a piece of furniture, or center it 5' above the floor if hung alone. When with furniture, the art should be no wider than 75% of the furniture's width. If hung alone on a narrow wall, it can cover up to 75% of the wall's width. In most homes the top of the frame should not be higher than window and door frames. Decorate where the people live, even if you have huge, high walls.

Could you post a photo of the space with the console? If the artwork will be centered over the console, the art should probably be about 28” wide, with the possibility of hanging two pieces vertically.

Wow, they sent you a desk. I don't know if that is good or bad, but it's pretty funny!

In any event, purchase some blue tape and tape out various sizes to see what fits best.

LOL! It was good & bad. March 2020 sent all non-essentials home, but I didn't get the desk until late 2020 when they realized how dumb it was to not supply us with anything sooner to help us work better.
