Our house is a 1960s rambler that has 2 additions, including one on the back of the house. The house overall is barely MCM looking but id like to lean in to that as much as practical..

Inwould like to add some type of portico ir roof awning over the side door. There ate currently concrete steps that will be removed, but im stumped with how to do the awning/portico because the main house and addition roof lines intersect above it.

This door is at the top of our baement stairs and we use it to access the detached garage. All guests enter through the front door.

We live in northern NY, so we have significant snow; our chimneys are not insulated which creates icecicles in this area in the winter. This will eventually be improved, but will not completely solve the i e problem.

Id like to keep it simple.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated
