stand alone ice makers

We are trying to decide whether or not to install one during our kitchen remodel. If you have one, do you use it? Was it worth it? How much does it affect your water bill? I can't find info regarding that concern. Finally, if you have one, which did you choose?

They just make ice. They do not keep ice. It continually melts and must be pumped down the drain. Big energy hogs. Water hogs too.

Thanks. That’s what I was afraid of. I’ll skip it then.

We have had an Opal Nugget Ice Maker since they were first released and would not part with it!
