know anyone that can DIY this? it really isn't a big deal. undoing the light fixture takes 30 secs.

have you checked to see if there is a joist over the center? it may be why they put it where it is.

if a stud is there, they do make flush electrical boxes. if no stud is there, it's easy to cut a new hole, patch the old one, and just move the junction box over.

Swagging it 4 inches might look odd Like, really odd.

if you got a diff light, like this one, it might look better swagged.

Your light is also hung too high. should be about 30-33" from the top of the table.

You have a nice nook area to work with. Look at pics of eat in nook spaces and see if you like anything

that was my concern how much wire to do you have, the fixture needs to drop down quite a bit.
