I don't grow veggies anymore, so have a mystery on my hands. I threw a Halloween pumpkin into one of the compost bins last fall which unbeknownst to me my DH sowed crookneck yellow squash seeds into this spring. Now we have leaves popping up everywhere. Can you tell a Crookneck from a Pumpkin just by it's mature leaves since they are both members of the squash family or do you have to wait to see the fruit that comes up?...............Maryl
