Orbit controller will not turn on any valves

The orbit controller has power and the water is turned on. This unit worked previously 2 days ago on its scheduled date and time, however, it will not work on its schedule or manually. I can physically open the valves and they work. Not sure if it's the controller or just the wiring. Usually, when I press Manual, it says ALL, and then will start the first valve/zone. Not now. If it is a wire(s), is there a specific wire to check? Please advise. Thank you.

    although it could be the controller the first thing to check is the common wire connections at both the controller and first valve the wires run too. this wire will most times be white but looking in the controller for the one marked com. will tell you.

    Hi, Thank you for responding. I have tried that. I even purchased a new solanoid, but that did not solve the problem. I do not have an adequate voltage meter to check the wires. I thought about running a wire from the controller (box) to the 2nd solenoid directly to see if it is the wire. At what point do I replace the controller? Please advise! thank you.

    your next test is to take a spare solenoid, activate each station in turn while holding one wire of the spare solenoid to the common terminal and the other wire to each station terminal in order. if the solenoid fails to buzz it's time to replace the controller.

    using a spare solenoid in this way lets you test if the clock is outputting a signal without the the need of a meter.

    Didn't do what you suggested, I admit. I did install new wires from the box to the solenoids (4), just as the previous wires were installed. Again, zone 2 did not go off. It skipped from one to three. I have a very basic voltage meeter. What could I set it on and what wires do I attach the probs to see if there is output from the controller to the solenoid? OR can I assume it's

    the control box at this point? I noticed a jumper in the Yellow Sensor area.

    first the yellow terminals are for a rain sensor and the jumper is needed when one is not installed. as for the terminals to test one is the white one, the other is the one with the orange wire which is station 2. connect your probes to both terminals, manually turn station 2 on by the clock and you should get a reading of 18 to 24 volts.

    Hi Good Morning. I did as you suggested. I'm getting between 1I8 and 24 volts on terminal 2. I checked the other terminals and they came up the same. I've installed a new solenoid, replaced the wiring, and tested the voltage. I can turn on station/valve 2 manually. What is the next step, please? Replacing the Control Unit? Please advise and thank you so very much for your help!

    You can try swapping zone 2 and 3 wires with one another, and let the controller do its cycle. If it still skips over zone 2, the problem is likely the controller. If instead it skips over zone 3, your problem is with the wiring of that zone.
