I've lived in a lot of houses. Some have had outside spaces convenient to the kitchen, others not so much, but I love eating outside or sitting out admiring my garden with a drink in hand. You could put a dorm fridge for drinks in a more convenient spot. Also, trays and baskets allow you to move larger amounts of food/dishes to your outside space in one go.

Put in a birdfeeder for something to look at.

I can’t tell which rooms face the space, but can you make it a beautiful space to look at, even if just in passing? Solar or battery powered led lights on a timer or light sensitive can make it a beautiful feature after dark. A water feature would add sound and coolness if the windows on it open. An exterior space doesn’t have to be used per se to contribute sensually to your interior soace.
