Multiple flooring dilemma

I recently purchased a one level open concept home in FL and it has ceramic tile in the hallway, kitchen, bathrooms and family room. All other areas have laminate in wood look. Previous owners defined the spaces with the differing floors. I would like to have the floors redone before moving in but I am so confused about what makes sense for the FL area (I’m a northerner), stylistically and for practicality. I have young kids/dog/elderly family members who visit. We are considering the glossy porcelain floors or luxury vinyl plank. We like the clean modern look of tile but like the warmth of luxury vinyl planks which might be a safer surface when wet. Stylistically is it better to have all floors the same even in bathrooms? How do you avoid slips on glossy tile floors with the transition from outdoor pool area into the house? Which option would be most cost effective to purchase/install? Thanks in advance for your advice.
