I would want all the doors to be the same.

What is the quality of your first floor doors? We used solid core doors in our house. They help to cut noise transmission and feel solid/heavy when handled.

It's a great look when the door style is consistent throughout a home, however first decide if the 6 panel doors are the best choice for the architecture of your home.

These doors are decidedly TRADITIONAL and Colonial. If that is not the style of your home then these are the wrong style doors for your home.

There are new products called door skins which are thin overlays that can be applied to the face of doors to create a different appearance. Some are vinyl and some are laminate.

If your home is Modern then a style like this might be more appropriate.

If the 2nd floor doors are being painted use a solid core masonite 6 panel door. I had sold many homes with wood doors thet got stained on the ground level and painted masonite on the upper floors. But I would do all i could to be consistent in the style at the very least.

It is a traditional style home i am just not wild about 6 panel Is there another traditional style that would complement the 6 panel?
