38" Casement Window

last modified: 4 years ago

We are replacing windows in our house. The window over our kitchen sink is currently a double hung but we are thinking of replacing it with a casement so it is easier to open. We are considering a Marvin Ultimate Single casement (which does come in this width ) vs. a double casement to avoid the 5" wood down the middle of the window. Wondering if anyone has used a casement for a 38" window and if it works ok over time. While we would love the look of it better, I am wondering if would be hard to open due to its size and if the hinge might break down over time. By the way, the height of the window is about 3'.
